In the aftermath of World War I, French diplomat Francois Georges-Picot and British colonel Sir Mark Sykes drew up an agreement that divided the territory lost by the Ottoman Empire. Almost 100 years later, the mujaheddin from the Islamic State have taken control of some of thees areas and returned them back to what they had been for over 13 centuries – the Caliphate.
The Sykes–Picot Agreement, which came to the effect on May 16, 1916, was penned with nothing but the imperialistic interests of the conquerors in mind. Neither Picot, nor Sykes consulted with the locals prior to dividing the Middle East among themselves, nor did they keep the needs and interests of the locals in mind when the agreement was made. They simply took the map of Middle East and Sykes, with a stroke of a pen, drew a hooking line from roughly Kirkuk in Iraq to Haifa in Palestine. France then took control of everything north of the line, and Britain of everything to the south of it.
The Islamic State, formerly known by several names, including as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), among others, is now erasing these borders and reuniting the areas divided by the Sykes–Picot Agreement in the newly established Islamic Caliphate headed by Sheik Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Video below features an English Speaking mujaheddin who gives a tour of former border crossing established by the Sykes–Picot Agreement, now under control of the Islamic Caliphate. It’s good to see that all the western taxpayer’s money sent to the “moderates” is serving the purpose. Hopefully the Islamic State will also do something for the betterment of the entire mankind and erase the one border that really shouldn’t exist.
