Many of you may not be aware of this particular group, but Peshmerga (confronting death) are the Kurdish fighting force for the Kurdish Regional Government or KRG, defending Kurdish territory of Northern Iraq. The name is also used by the armies of other Kurdish-held territories. They have a history going back to the early twentieth century although the current incarnation began in 2003 with the US invasion of Iraq where they aided in ousting Saddam Hussein. And like United States, they fight against Islamic State while simultaneously supporting IS sponsor, Israel, as Israel has been known to supply Peshmerga with weapons and equipment.
They defend their territory fiercely and defend all ethnicities within their borders. While Iraqi Kurdistan is predominantly Sunni Muslim, they proudly use females in their armies. They have a hate for these bought-and-paid-for terrorists that becomes evident when you see them in action. I have here a gallery of photos depicting the results of those who cross Peshmerga. Their work is admirable and I have earned a respect for them in just a short time although, like United States, they may be a little misguided as to who the real enemy is.
Not all photos in the gallery are from the same conflict. I’ve included some that might help give an idea as to the personality of Peshmerga and how they function as a unit. They are not a group for your pussy liberal leftists, that’s for sure.
