The French Release Another Propaganda Video of Attack on Alleged ISIS Target

The French released another video of an alleged attack on an ISIS target in Iraq and as before, the video is for the most part a show of force propaganda. Named “Operation Chammal”, it was yet another expensive mission that required the jets to travel long distance, get refueled along the way to eventually drop a couple of bombs on who knows what.

The text at the beginning of the video says that on September 25, 2014, during another mission on behalf of Iraqi forces, two French Rafales destroyed four warehouses containing military equipment used by the Islamic State (Daesh), west of Baghdad, near Fallujah.

During an armed recon mission, the opportunistic targets have been transmitted in flight to the pilots by the Coordination air operation center. They have then been identified by the Rafales pilots then destroyed using four GBU 12 rockets.

Equipped with Damocles targeting pods, the French aircrafts attacked between 9:50am and 10:22am. During the seven hours long mission the two Rafales have been resupplied four times by the tanker aircraft 135-FR of the French air force and by another US air force tanker aircraft.

The Atlantic 2 maritime patrol aircraft then proceeded to do the battle damage assessment during a ten hour recon flight coordinated with the Rafale’s.
